To begin, the work of a psychologist consist of learning about the brain by doing some exam on patients and some investigation in the field. Most of the psychologists act in hospital or mental health institutions, but also in the instructive system, like the schools. In addition, nearly all of these experts keep some personal exercise in their own cabinets and this represent a big level of claim. At the opposite, other experts who work for the government or corporations of psychologists have more strict structures and schedules and rarely have conferences who take them out of their redundant records. Also, same if this job are difficult emotionally and don't always have a nice timetable, the psychoanalysts say that it's a rewarding job because the work they do helps other to feel better, which is very satisfying and permit to persist in this field.


Pursuing, the title of psychologist needs long studies, nothing less than a doctorate is needed to become a psychologist and to open all the doors of the field. Moreover, this doctorate includes a thesis and is spread over five to seven years and preliminary courses related to statistics and computer science must have been completed. During these years of study you will also do, under supervision of experts, some consultations with patients and after your graduation another year of work under supervision is mandatory. Also, another path to becoming a psychologist is possible, but offers fewer job options. This one is called the Psy.D. and puts the emphasis on the occurrence in consultation rather than on a thesis. It should be noted that only those who have obtained their doctorate can attend to patients, but the accreditation and certification by the State where you want to practice is also necessary. Finally, people holding a master degree can also work in psychology, being the assistant of a psychologist and can practice under supervision. In the case of holders of bachelor's degree in psychology, the practice is even more restricted, but is preferable for higher education at the university. The other bachelors degree who permit more advanced studies in psychology are the biological, social and physical sciences, statistics and mathematics.
During the 1600s, Rene Descartes created the conception of unwilling behavior, this conception will be the basis of psychology. Furthermore, in the 1890s, Freud and Titchener developed respectively the concept of the unconscious and the psychology of introspection. The psychology developed greatly afterwards and found some recognition following the Second World War. Also, as psychology is a relatively recent science, it should develop further for several years and the demand for a psychologist will not fail soon, especially in correctional, educational, public and corporate field.Today, old thoughts about mental disturbances give way to more openness and acceptance, so people going through arduous times are more likely to consult psychologists than before.
